Re: update
MediaMonkey 2024 (and now 2024.1 ) is a direct update to MediaMonkey 5. Thank you for the prompt reply - I appreciate it. If I may say this as gently as possible (since we're in an online context), stating that the "Current version of MediaMonkey: 2024.1.0.3113" is also known as "(4.1.31.1919)" is ...

Re: update
If the details about this are covered elsewhere, forgive me. I'm super confused about MediaMonkey 2024 vs. MediaMonkey 5. Right now, I'm running 5.0.4.2693; and it says "Copyright 2025". But "Check for updates" takes me to the web page to "update" (??) to MM 2024. On the surface, that seems like it ...

No idea if my problem is related, but there's a definite overlap of what we each just did.

Re: Need help wrapping up migration to a new PC
I removed those 2 extra "locations" (from the database but not from the file system). But if I re-add the "Path" criterion to the "Music" collection with "contains" the value "D:\Media\Music", everything disappears from the collection again. Interestingly, if I use the value "\Media\Music" (i.e. no ...

Re: Need help wrapping up migration to a new PC
A few remarks by way of response: 1. I have not done *any* re-scanning after the move to the new PC. I'm desperately hoping to avoid that because I haven't had the greatest experience with mass re-scanning. 2. There are 3 items in that "Location" view, only 1 of which has any artwork. 3. I have to ...

Re: Need help wrapping up migration to a new PC
OK, that definitely made a difference. It certainly looks like all my "Artists" are there now, which is the primary way I manage and navigate my "Music" collection. Still a couple of issues: First, if I re-add "Path contains D:\Media\Music", everything disappears from the collection again. I went in ...

Re: Need help wrapping up migration to a new PC
Yes, the files are still there. That's how they're visible on the "Home" screen in the media tree (at least that's the only explanation I'd have as to how they show up there). FWIW, it seems to me that the lack of any "Location" under the "Music" collection doesn't make sense - see screenshot in ...

Re: Need help wrapping up migration to a new PC
I'll try. Here's what I see at "Home" as the partial list of "All Artists" that I expect to see in my "Music" collection. https://i.ibb.co/zht0Drb/MM5-Home-All-Artists.png My empty "Music" collection. https://i.ibb.co/XCFDnkw/MM5-Music-Collection-Empty.png The "Location" for the "Music" collection ...

Bump. I can't move forward using MM without resolving this issue.
Can anyone help? Lowlander?
In case it matters, I do have a Gold license.
Thanks.

Need help wrapping up migration to a new PC
Problem: I'm not seeing the albums, artists, tracks, etc. in my "Music" collection as they show up on the previous PC. I have a second collection which *does* show those items correctly. What I did: I followed the instructions at these links to accomplish the move: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki ...

Re: How do I stop MediaMonkey from arbitrarily suggesting album art?
Preview won't do auto-lookup with auto-lookup disabled. You can also right click in the Preview window and disable Show image . That may be the case ("Preview won't do auto-lookup..."), but it seems as if the Browser view has already done the lookup, Preview uses the image that was found. I had to ...

Re: How do I stop MediaMonkey from arbitrarily suggesting album art?
This seems wrong to me. If he turns off the background metadata lookup of artwork and artist images, should that not prevent what he is seeing? Why would there be unrequested image lookup happening when this is turned off? Can we have a feature request to turn off any remaining lookup of artwork ...
