That's always been possible under Tools > Options > Network. The latest release comes with an alternative hosted by MediaMonkey: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8811 Do note that these are no longer updated, so any new content won't be available. The alternative is MusicBrainz ...

Could "alternate" freedb servers be added to current shipping MediaMonkey like MP3Tags has done? Mp3tag v3.02 Support for alternative freedb servers The current operator of the public freedb servers announced to stop its services as of March 31, 2020. I've now added alternative freedb servers to ...

Re: MM Futures - DLNA, Network Audio, Audiophiles, Roon, etc
control via DLNA where audio would be played Right click Player in MM and use Choose Player to select a DLNA client for playback. It seems that for now DLNA will be further used. MM5 will add Chromecast to its capabilities (MMA already has it). MMA may get the ability to control MM5 in the future ...

MM Futures - DLNA, Network Audio, Audiophiles, Roon, etc
Hi, I am a very very longtime MediaMonkey Gold user. MM has worked well for me for more than a decade? But, my eye is wandering as my audio and specifically network audio needs evolve. I also have been running LMS (Logitech Music Server aka "Squeezebox") for more than a decade and MM is my CD ...

Re: Best Value Media streaming device
My Squeezebox is looking like its died. Why don't you build a Raspberry Pi Squeezebox replacement. 1. Buy a standard Raspberry Pi board $30 2. Buy a Wolfson DAC Pi Audio board $35. This will give you 192k/24bit support as well. 3. If you need wireless, get a $9 USB 802.11 4. Install either ...

Re: Upgrade to 4.0.3 changed my settings back to default val
When upgrading from 4.03 to 4.05 MM resets certain values such as Podcast directory to c:\users instead of my custom default of d:\podcast. Also when restarted, MM acts like I want to setup for the first time and wants to run the setup wizard. Also defaults to MM settings for audio and video which I ...

Update all Podcasts 100% slower in MM4 vs. MM3
Hi, I've searched the forum and seen many messages with Podcast downloads in MM4. I haven't seen my issue specifically mentioned. I am seeing at least a 100% increase in time for MM4 to update all my podcast subscriptions as compared to MM3. Besides the long update times, I note that MM4 seems to be ...

1296/1297 Ripping 50% faster with Win7 SATA CD
Hi, Longtime MM user here. Ever since I setup my new computer in Jan 2010 with Win7 64bit, I have been puzzled by the rather leisurely MM CD rip speeds I was getting. Typically, I was seeing 5 minute plus rip times. My CD/DVD writer is SATA and I had used other programs that appeared to rip at a ...

Re: Slow CD rip on new Core i5 & 7240S drive
Thanks for your help. After further research, I seem to have found the problem. I had connected the sata CD drive on the same channel as my primary hard disc which is an SSD drive btw. I moved the CD to another connection/channel. I rebooted and tested with Imgburn. Before I was getting 10+ minute ...

Slow CD rip on new Core i5 & 7240S drive
Hi, I have set up a new system running a Core i5, Windows 7 64, and an Optiarc 7240s drive. Running shipping version of MediaMonkey Gold. This is a fast system. Even so, I seem to be getting fairly slow cd ripping times. I'd say in excess of 5 minutes. This is slower than my previous system. I do ...

Yeah, I am getting these same files, when ripping FLAC, as well. Doubling disc storage requirements for each ripped CD. I am now deleting files manually. Never seen this bug before. Not clear why it showed up this late in the game. I find I have to resort to MP3Tag to get the tags straight lately ...

It's not a bug really, the "" is used to indicate subfolders. Okay, but neither character is a legal character for a file name. In the case of "/" MM correctly changes it to a "-", I would of thought the same rule would apply to ""? Why would I want to create a file directory when creating the name ...

MM3alpha7 - Flac file creation name bug with "/"
Hi, Testing MMalpha 7 on Windows Vista. I was ripping a cd which was autotagged from Amazon. One of the song names was a multiple title that looked like: "Un Poco Loco \ Chant Song" Note the "\" character. When MM wrote the flac files it create a sub-dir named: "Un Poco Loco" with a file named ...

CD Burn, Dither, and 24 bit files
Hi,
I was wondering if MM applies any Dithering when converting FLAC files that are say in 48k 24 bit format to 44k 16 bit for CD Burning?
Any help in understanding MM's processing of such files would be helpful to me.
Thanks.
