Show status on lock screen OFF
Disable audio processing ON
Show subtitles OFF

Album played through completely to the end...no stuttering,and no stopping when system/screen timed out!

Well...upgraded to 1.0.3.52 this morning. :( Played an album, screen timed out and music started stuttering...it does indeed keep playing through the timeout, but stuttering is not so great for listening to music. I have figured out how to create a new playlist and have done so, but I see nothing on how to add either albums, artists, genres, or tracks to that playlist. When I select an album (for example) I get the pop-up dialog to Play All or Shuffle All. Swiping down at the top of the screen yields Play All...

Update:

* Play All, no shuffle, times out
* Play Genre, 88 songs, no shuffle, plays
* Play Genre, 202 songs, shuffle, times out
* Play Genre, 202 songs, no shuffle, still playing after 9 songs or a little over 30 minutes.

Installed latest update... Test 1 - "Shuffled all songs" from local SD card, not connected to a network...timed out as before Test 2 - Selected 1 album with x songs from local SD card, no shuffle, not connected to a network...timed out Side note: some of my albums now list duplicate songs....

Update to my previous post - could it be network related?

No matter what options or how many times I reboot, without being connected to a network, it always stops after a couple of songs.

I am getting mixed results. From a fresh boot, I start MM, pick an album and play. Plays through all tracks of the album - even after my Dell Latitude 10 goes to sleep. I got the same results on Friday after the upgrade. However I then decided to 'shuffle' songs...it was then that tracks quit playin...

Has this been replicated by MM and a possible fix on the way? I am dying to go back to MM...

For me, the music is on a removable sd card. Both instances...Xbox and MM8...all variables equal with the exception of the application playing the tracks.

Happens to me as well...I have a Dell Latitude 10 tablet running Win8 Pro. Does not stop when the screen times out, but rather when the device times out...when I hit the Windows button, login to Win8, music starts automatically.
