Export Media Monkey Settings

Okay, I keep MM on two computers. Can I export MM settings to another computer? Play list, column views, ect.

So it looks the same on my laptop as well as my desktop.

Any thoughts?

Its probably easier to just set it manually.

Gotta be a better way, I create huge playlist, the ipod settings not to mention setting up the title bar.

Gotta be a way to export Media Monkey to another computer with all the settings of the previous MM

Playlists and library info are stored in the database

Columns and various other settings are stored in the registry key HKLU\Mediamonkey (for mm3) or HKLU\Songs-DB (mm2)

most other settings are stored in the mediamonkey.ini, which is also normally stored in the same place as the database locations above.

It should be noted also:
- you can export playlists via file > export playlist menu, and thru various scripts to bulk export them
- you can not import/export auto-playlists (yes it is on the wishlist)
- mediamonkey uses the volume id of the hard drives and not the drive letter, this allows MM to find the music if the drive letter changes, but also causes problems if you copied/moved files to a DIFFERENT drive (it will have a different ID). There is a script that can update the database to the new ID but I dont' rememer the link.
- I have never looked at where the portable device settings are saved, but I am guessing in the registry

I found settings in My Documents, but this didn't work.

Default Mediamonkey 3 Database location

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\MediaMonkey\MM.DB
Windows Vista: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\MediaMonkey\MM.DB

I don't want to sound rude, but as I stated earlier, it will probably take you about a half an hour to set everything up manually and an hour if you try to copy every last setting/registry file and get it into the right place.
