AVCHD .mts file support

Please forgive me if I should already know this. Does MM support AVCHD video .mts files? It seems not. MM ignores all these files. I would use MM to manage the files from my Canon camcorder if it could read and play these HD video files. I have other programs that can play the files on the PC. MM does not allow me to tell it to read/play these files! Is there an addon for AVCHD?
