hi,
i have a working iphone 3g/MM setup, where i'd copied files over from playlists previously ok.
However, I've noticed that although MM says its copying files, and those files are listed in MM's view of the iphone, the tracks arent showing up on the iphones iPod player.
It does say after a sync that its updating its database, but the added new tracks aren't there.
I've iTunes 8.2.0.23
MM 3.1.0.1256
iPhone 3.0 3G sync

hmmm.. more serious than I thought. I wanted to try and start syncing again from scratch, so used MM to remove the tracks (which it did ok), but now it wont sync any at all back. It doesnt complain, and it does list the files (via MM only), but iPod says its blank.
iTunes is set to Manual manage.

MM doesn't support the 3.0 firmware, there are several threads on this already.

Yes - I was testing a new beta dll - but no reply to my feedback yet

If people are getting confused about this it's because there are several threads on this when there should be one very obvious one.nohitter151 wrote:MM doesn't support the 3.0 firmware, there are several threads on this already.
Instead there should be a sticky at the top with a title of "MM doesn't support the 3.0 firmware!"
I see "MM Sync of iPhone/iPod Touch fails with iTunes 8.1.1" but that implies you could sync your iPhone if you just had the right version of iTunes which is not true. There is no version of iTunes that will allow you to sync your 3.0 iPhone.
And the MM's front page instead of offering the feature "Sync iPhones, iPods, & MP3 players, converting & leveling tracks on-the-fly." should say "Sync iPhones if they are running an old operating system that NOBODY ACTUALLY RUNS"
Yes it's Apple's fault that this is busted, but that's no excuse for MM's poor communication on the issue.

Eh.. I'm still using it. Whatever crappy new features that 3.0 offers aren't worth losing MMagraham wrote:If people are getting confused about this it's because there are several threads on this when there should be one very obvious one.nohitter151 wrote:MM doesn't support the 3.0 firmware, there are several threads on this already.

Re: iPhone 3.0 3G sync
Personally I dont find 3.0s new features "crappy". MMS, Multi-photo-forward, being the two best, but then this isnt the forum for discussing the 3.0 features.
I'm sure the MM devs are working on the issue. I was just hoping my feedback on the beta would be helpful, but no replies.
