Synch with Android, some settings not working properly [#16063]

Post by NoPlayBack »

My synch via WiFi with Android Device (Samsung S9+) works very well... except some small issues, where desired settings seem not to be effective:

I have set up MM on Windows to store the music to "\Music\<Album Interpret>\<Album>\<Song#:2> <Interpret> - <Titel>" (have defined that in options - external devices - Samsung-SDCard - Options - StorageLocation.
- Some of my tracks are stored with "<Song#:2> <Titel>"
- Some of my tracks are stored with <Song#:2> <Album Interpret> - <Titel>"
- Some of my tracks, obviously only new ones, are stored with "<Song#:2><Album Interpret> - <Titel>" (that means there is no space between the tracknumber and the Interpret)
- Even when i change the setting in MM on windows, the Android-App will tell me at the next synch "Nothing has to be synched". So changing the setting shows no effect. Adding a complete new titel works, then it shows the message that a title has been synched and playlists have been updated.

Choosing that other files should be deleted (in "Auto-Synch to device"-Tab) has not the wanted effect. Files in that directory are not deleted.

Which version of MMW and MMA (if used) are you using?

Hi,
I tested your settings and it is normal behavior, MMA do not want to resync tracks again just because of Filename format and that is why you get "Nothing has to be synced" which is correct.

You can enforce mask on existing tracks by enabling it in same options page as filename masks.

For me it renames all tracks according to new mask.

Thanks for the hint that i can set the switch to enforce usage of the mask on existing tracks... i did not set that before.
Unfortunately, now with the switch set, there is no change in behaviour. Before it said "Everything is in synch", and after setting that option, same answer, "Everything is in synch". Althoug the filenames of the tracks are wrong.

Now the next test i did is to delete one of the tracks with wrong filename within the Android-App. After another synch, that one track was synched, and now it has the correct filename.
I had done the same test without that switch to enforce usage of the mask enabled, and in that case the track was again synched with the wrong filename.

So, still i can not see the behaviour which i have set up in the settings...

Hi,
Added additional enhancement to enforce option as it acts strange See https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=16063
