Hi,
I've always used MusicMatch Jukebox up until now.
I've grown quite fond of MM and especially love the scripts.
I've used Trixmoto's script to convert MusicMatch's ratings to MM.
One thing I've found out by looking at the code in Trixmoto's script is that MM uses 0 - 100 for ranking. the official ID3 v2.3 uses 0 - 255.
I've looked at the tags with ID3-TagIT and it displays the ratings in numbers from 0 - 255. Are these converted?
Also, it seems that, when using Trixmoto's script to convert MusicMatch ratings, the values are written to the database but not to the MP3 tag.
Only when rating again in MM are the values stored in the tag.
Is there any way to do this by addapting the script?
Thanks for the effort.
Greetz,

If you have the setting "Update tags when editing properties" checked in "Tools, Options, Library, Tags & Playlists" then the tags will be updated my the script you are referring to.

I believe that the MediaMonkey database value is different from the MediaMonkey ID3 value. MediaMonkey use 0-100 in the database and 0-255 in the ID3 tag. It has been reported that the values MediaMonkey uses are different from the values that WMP 11 uses for the same ID3 rating field.

Trixmoto,
I did have "Update tags when editing properties" checked so I don't know what has gone wrong. Perhaps I didn't have MM open long enough to update the tags.
Anyway, I now select all songs with equal ratings, rate them again and wait for MM to update the tags. This time all is written to the tags.
I don't know if you guys know about ID3-TagIT but it seems to be quite complete on tag nfo. If you have any other tools to check the tags, I'd be interested in those as well.
As I explained earlier, I'm using Firefly as a server for my music and a Roku Soundbridge to connect to my stereo.
Fireflay uses smart playlists as well so whenever I rate songs now they show up in the smart playlists. The only difficulty was figuring out how the rating works and where the values were stored.
This is definitely another plus for MM since I found it to be the only program that actually writes the rating into the appropriate place. Besides that it keeps its own ratings in the database and adds another field into the comment.
Great stuff.
This and the excelent scrips from you and other contributors have me converted to MM.
Thanks again for the great work.
