"Years" collection should be based on "original date" as an option [#17947]

There is the collection "Years" as part of the "Music" collection. This is automatically sorted by decades (and "unknown") which I really like. Unfortunately it is based on the "date" tag and not "original date". I have different versions of many albums and "original date" means when the album was published first and "date" stands for the time the remaster or remix was made. Therefore it would be much more appropriate to base the "years" collection on "original date" as I would like to hear the Beatles together with other music from the 60s and not from the 80s or 90s (or even later) when the CDs were created.

I do understand that other music collections are organized differently so I'd like to see this as an option: Base "Years" collection on "date" tag or "original date" tag. Ideally in the right-click menu .

Are you referring to the sub-node Years in the Media Tree?

In that case the request should be to be able to select Original Date as a sub-node.

You are right, the sub-node in the media tree is what I mean. I would like to see the same sub-sub-nodes for the decades as with "Years" but based on "Original Date".

This is now included in 5.0.2.2500 and it works as expectd, thank you!

It is not yet translated to the german version but this is no issue for me, just to let you know.
