DLNA tracks not in order [#16175] [#16268]

Post by dtsig »

server: mm4 1895
client: mm5 2218

When I went into an album on server the tracks are not showing in track# order. I have not noticed this before.
I checked on the server to be sure that all tracks have the correct track numbers and disk number

Just discovered the problem. On the dlna client the tracks are FORCE sorted by Title. I added track# but can not sort by it or anything else ... it stays sorted by title.

For me they are sorted just fine according to Track# by default: https://www.dropbox.com/s/msawujg2m0rpz ... 8.png?dl=0

But you are true that changing the order in the list does not take effect!

Could you please attach a screenshot or path how you are browsing? I still cannot replicate ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/msawujg2m0rpz ... 8.png?dl=0 )
Note that MM5 client respects the order served by the server (until you manually change the order by clicking the columns header in MM5).

That would mean that mm4 server is serving up sorted by title

I am seeing *new* behavior in 2020. When I select the album it puts the tracks in sorted name order in the grid. BUT if right click the album and PLAY NOW it does put the tracks in Playing in the correct track# sequence.
*Edited*
It would seem that the *problem* is that MM5 sorts the display of tracks by Title but should be sorting buy Track# as a default.

Thoughts

And how you are selecting album and in which view, is it per my screenshot above?
Could you attach your screenshot so that I could replicate the issue?

EDIT: Tested again in 2220 for sure and the order seems all right for me: https://www.dropbox.com/s/iezbel6l1j13u ... 9.png?dl=0
MM5 is client and MM4 is server

I just updated my home client and it appears to be returning in sorted order correctly <sigh>. the only difference I can think of is that the work box is installed as portable. I will make some snapshots tomorrow.

I am back at work and my work mm5 is not working like it should. the first picture https://www.dropbox.com/s/b4nxxqpl3q3ww ... 1.jpg?dl=0 shows where i am starting from. The second picture https://www.dropbox.com/s/objjg7kfnltof ... 2.jpg?dl=0 shows where the tracks are displayed in wrong order.

This is a pristine system ... portable install with no changes. As mentioned the home system works and since there is a workaround i am not sure that it is worth your time to figure it out.

I see it finally, you are in "List (by Album)" view, while I was using "List" view, that's the difference.
