I hope that this is not needed.Lowlander wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 11:19 am Capture sync in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86643
Is this it?
Re: Sync Crash
Yes, that is explained in step 4b. You don't install it, it just runs and captures the logs from the debug version (required) of MediaMonkey. This will be very helpful in figuring out why sync fails for you.

Re: Sync Crash
But, at the moment, we are waiting on the results from the Support Ticket I submitted? I am not registered to any file hosting services. But, this is only needed if the log file > 2 MB? And, I can upload it via a ticket that can in turn given to any support staff here that need it? All you need to to do is run DBGView and then start MMW and sync? DBGView automatically captures everything that happening about MMW and everything else?
EDIT: I started DBGView and selected Log to file and filename/folder location. I started MMW and watched it fill up with activity. But, after I closed MMW and closed DBGView, all that activity did not get logged automatically to that filename I selected? Do you need to do something else?

Sync inconsistencies
I have gotten a lot further. Please take at a look at the above ticket for more information. During this sync, I have noticed some inconsistencies. One example: The Beatles. When I saw this in artist view in MMW, I thought I was OK. But, as this sync continues. Using a file manager in android, I already have two folders: "Beatles, The" and "Beatles". I went back to artist view in MMW. one example, Rubber Soul where artist == The Beatles, is consistent. But, Album Artist == Beatles for one track instead of The Beatles. There are more examples. Is this something that can be tweaked globally? Or, do these inconsistencies have to be done on a case by case basis? Or, will MMA handle these somehow despite the inconsistencies?Ludek wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 9:52 am Thanks, analyzed/replied your ticket NHU-235-96571, to be fixed as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=16643
EDIT: Should I start a new thread for this?

Re: Sync Crash [#16643]
This above sync got a lot further. But, when I checked, it was a white screen or blank. I could not read anything - have no idea what went wrong? It crashed just around "Usher" with a few more artist to go. I am using MMW Build 2250
EDIT: I need some help with DBGVIew. After a log file is generate, you upload at the Helpdesk? I think the crash/freeze might be happening somewhere in U2. But, my collection of U2 is little over 5 GB.

Re: Sync Crash [#16643]
Actually, it appears as if the sync is done. This is my first sync on this phone from beginning to end. No progress circle icon at top right or file activity at bottom left? However, when I right-click on Galaxy A51 - Card, and choose "Safely Remove Device", a popup "The device can not be stopped now as it appears to be in use"? I have waited for about 10 minutes and nothing seems to be happening? Maybe this is an option for an iPod and not a phone?
Re: Sync Crash [#16643]
Hi,
Windows Safe remove was never reliable. For years now I have switched to https://zentimo.com/features.htm which never failed me down. Especially as it shows me what app locks device and I can close the app or force stop.
Previous to Zentimo I used their other app USB safely remove https://safelyremove.com/features.htm

Just to clarify... I understand what you mean by "Windows Safe remove". But, I was referring to "Safely Remove Device" in MMW?Peke wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 9:17 pm Hi,

EDIT: I was asking some folks in another forum about this, They claim that in Windows 10 this is not longer necessary? i.e. Using a 3rd party, "Safe Remove", any more?

Hi,
Each one of us have choice. I prefer to be safe and in full control. As explained in https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 39#p468639 things can happen.
