[SOLVED] Periodically save playlist state
I think this is only saving when MM5 is shut down properly. I shut my laptop down last nice and when I opened MM5 this morning some tracks I had added to the playlist are gone and the current track had moved back to where it was when I last opened yesterday. It would be nice if it saved whenever tracks are added/removed and after it changes track, rather than when you fully exit the program.
Re: Periodically save playlist state
Hi,
It is by design because in case you add some corrupted tracks to Now Playing that crashes MM you would not be able to start MM if it is saved as soon as you add track to playlist before file check.

Re: Periodically save playlist state
Could we have a safe mode switch to start with an empty playlist in this case? I have been using MM4 for years and this has never happened to me once.
Re: Periodically save playlist state
Actually the Playing survives my crashes. So unlike MMW4 it does seem to save Playing during running of MM5.

I'm on 5.0.0.2310 portable, so I think it's the latest version. I had it open most of the day yesterday and shut the laptop down without closing it

Re: Periodically save playlist state
fyi, we actually fixed an issue like this some time back (https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=17536) -- a crash should not generally result in a loss of changes to a Playlist or to the Playing list (or to any portion of the DB).
Please let us know if you can replicate with the latest build (I haven't been able to yet).
Thanks!

Re: Periodically save playlist state
I updated, played a few songs and shut the laptop down without closing properly and it has remembered the playlist position. Either it was fixed between those version or something else happened to lose it but not currently reproducible. Thanks
Re: [SOLVED] Periodically save playlist state
OK, happened again. I played a load of tracks, shutdown the laptop without closing MM5. When I loaded it back up the playlist was back where it was when I started the program the day before. I hadn't made any changes to the playlist, just listened to 20 or so tracks. It would be really nice if it would save playlist position as the track changes
Re: [SOLVED] Periodically save playlist state
Hi, the lastest version 2316 fails to restore the position, this regression is fixed as: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=17615
