I'm still using MM4 and today i mistakenly deleted the artist and album artist info from an album, i thought no problem i would fire up MM5 and use the audio fingerprint to retag.
i downloaded the latest beta MM5 and used a new portable install with the database and settings imported from MM4. i set MM5 to only use the audio fingerprint and selected all the tracks but when i ran auto tag the progress bar does not move even though i left it for ages.
if i put some entries in the Artist field even if its garbage it does work, also it works with blank entries if i only select a couple of tracks
i went back two beta versions and still see the same behavour

Re: Auto tag issues
Hi Yes on 2410
Ive been trying to narrow it down and it seams to do it if album title is populated but artist is unknown. i can reproduce some of the time by clearing the artist and album artists fields for an album then running auto tag.
its not a mjor problem as normally the artist field would be populated even if its wrong
Re: Auto tag issues
I'm not sure if this is trouble with getting to the server or if missing Artist has anything to do with it.
1) Removed Artist/Album Artist
2) Ran Auto-Tag, seemed to stay on Track 1, nothing seemed to proceed
3) Added Artist/Album Artist
4) Auto-Tag seemed to quickly find matches
5) Removed Artist/Album Artist
6) Auto-Tag seemed to stay on Track 1, then quickly found all
However I'm not sure if MediaMonkey caches matches which then in step 6 results in not being able to reproduce step 2. I also don't know if intermittent connection issues are causing the inconsistent results.

Then tried it with a different Album and waited 2 minutes and it matched files.

Yeah that’s exactly as I see it.once step 6 happens it seams to work even if I remove the artist/album artist again. But if I move on to another album and repeat from step 1 I get step 2 again.Lowlander wrote: ↑Sun May 30, 2021 1:30 pm I'm not sure if this is trouble with getting to the server or if missing Artist has anything to do with it.

How long are you waiting at Step 2? For a different Album, waiting 2 minutes got the results.

Please capture it in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 30&t=86643 This will allow a developer to analyze what exactly could be causing this on those files.
