- Creating a New Folder gives no feedback if there was an error
I usually copy the album tag to the clipboard, and then paste that that into MM5's New Folder option
Some album tags contain characters which are invalid in filenames, such as semi-colons, and in a long album title I don't always notice this.
If I did the same thing using the Windows File Explorer, it's editor is smart enough to auto-filter away the invalid characters, and the creation succeeds.
.
MM5 is not that smart. It is not even smart enough to create an error or warning message.
It looks like the operation is successful, but the action has been silently rejected.
This may be easy to detect in a tiny test directory, but causes confusion in a real life situation.
. - Cut and Paste using Folders node can be unreliable, and no error message
Steps:- cut a group of tracks using either Ctrl+X or the Context Menu
- navigate to a folder using the Folders node in the Media tree
- the selected folder has opened in the Main Panel
- right click inside the Main Panel, and select Paste
- ==> there is never any feedback. Sometimes the operation is successful, but often it isn't ... it succeeded when moving a couple of tracks to an empty folder, but failed when trying to move them back to previous the folder
- if I do the right & click paste onto the failing folder node in the Media Tree (not the main panel) it always works

Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.
