Year Instead of Date? [#18261 #18262]
The new autotag lookup is really slick, but I don't like having the whole month/day/year date in the list. In Options/Library/Metadata Lookup/Auto-tagging I removed "Date" from the audio list, and replaced it with "Year," hoping that would switch it (since I couldn't find "Year" as a column I could add to the window), and now Autotag displays just the year like I hoped, but on committing the changes the "Date" field still receives month/day/year values, requiring some manual editing. Is there an option somewhere else to prefer the year only, or to store the whole thing but only display the year?
This screenshot shows the years Autotag displays, next to the values it actually set:

Re: Year Instead of Date?
Year uses the Date tag and just shows the Year, but it isn't a tag on its own. Year is used for Auto-Organize (Files) to only use the year in the resulting Path.

Re: Year Instead of Date?
So I'm stuck manually editing all the dates? That's a bummer.
Re: Year Instead of Date?
I feel the same way and just want to have the year. Must also change everything by hand. Especially since the car tag is not working properly.
First, the number of edited songs does not fit above
Second, eyelids that have been processed with Autotag are scanned again. MM5 doesn't seem to know that the songs have been renamed before.

You can remove Date from being Auto-Tagged: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... g_Settings and do it manually instead.

And does this setting still use the year tag?Lowlander wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 10:56 am You can remove Date from being Auto-Tagged: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... g_Settings and do it manually instead.
Re: Year Instead of Date?
There is no Year tag. MediaMonkey uses Date. You can tag it with just a year value and you can use <Year> to just get the year portion of Date.

Re: Year Instead of Date?
So could there be a script that takes the <Year> of the Date field and overwrites the date?
Re: Year Instead of Date?
That would be up to an Addon developer to create, but technically it is possible to do this via an Addon.

Thank you Lowlander. For Zonky and 1001Musik, I learned a little bit and made a really basic script:

Re: Year Instead of Date? [#18261 #18262]
Hi,
I also don't want the full date when auto-tagging. Is there any way for it to use only the year?
Also, which database are people using? I'm using Musicbrainz

Re: Year Instead of Date? [#18261 #18262]
Hello,
I would like to bring the topic back to the fore.
When it comes to my songs, I focus on the release of the song and not the album. The Addon "Datum-zu-Jahr 0.9" only changes the date, but not the original date. Is there a way to add this feature to the addon?
