Double click.... Play Now.... delay [#18071]

Hi, I have search and could not see where this was discussed before, but the bug that I have noticed is when a song is playing and I double click another song to play (whilst the current one is playing), nothing happens for about 5 seconds... then the song that I double clicked to play will play! There seems to be a delay!

I have set the settings in Tools - Option - Player - Default Action - When files are playing = Play now

Ohhhh... I have just noticed something too.... The error / bug only happens when I am in the Music - All Tracks section. I only have 31491 tracks

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong!

Background information: I have only just upgraded to MM5 2 days ago having come from MM4.

As a workartound, I have changed it to Play Next and then press forward.. this then plays the track i double clicked on without delay.

I await the full fix so that I don't have to use this workaround.

Hmm, ciscovpn, how many tracks do you have in your library? Peke's description of the issue implies that you need 10k+ tracks to reproduce the issue. I have 5700 tracks in my library, which is at least within the same order of magnitude, but I barely experience any delay (Less than half a second).
Do you experience the issue when you have only one album playing?

Hello, I have 31504 tracks.

No the problem does not happen when I do it with a single album. I have just tried with a playlist with 2000 tracks and there was a 2 second lag

1) verify whether this settings has any impact on the issue:
Options > Player > Auto-DJ / Playing list
[x] Show warning when file to be played is not accessible

2) Generate debug log (item 4b here: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86643 )

Hello, I can confirm that when I uncheck Options > Player > Auto-DJ / Playing list -[x] Show warning when file to be played is not accessible.... the lag does not happen and it works as expected.

Having this option does not produce a lag and the file once double clicked plays instantly.
Tools > Options > Player > Default Action > When playback is stopped: = Play now
Tools > Options > Player > Default Action > When files are playing: = Play now

However, having this option causes a very long delay before the song is played.

Its safe to say that enabling this option (Tools > Options > Player > Auto-DJ / Playing list - [X ] Show warning when file to be played is not accessible) causes a lag.

The more files you add to the Playing the more files MediaMonkey needs to check on the hard drive if they exist in the Path MediaMonkey knows. This, I would expect, takes longer the more files that have to be checked. Hard drives often are bottlenecks in performance.
