Just now upgraded Gold to latest version 5xxx2531, every audio file no longer plays in MM.
No matter how in windows I try to play a file, folder with MM, MM says "file xxx not accessible"
Doesn't matter if I try to play it directly from within MM or from the folder or file, it no longer works on any type of file, everything worked fine before the update.
All files play fine in VLC, Windows player etc no new hardware or software,
Help please.

Just updated Gold to 5xx2531 click play folder contents no longer accessible
Hi,
Just updated Gold to 5xx2531 files or folders no longer accessible, I can no longer click on a folder and use "play with MM" as when MM opens it just returns a file xxx is not accessible.
Doesn't matter if I try from within MM or what type of audio file, it just says file XXX not accessible, while all files still play fine with windows player, VLC etc. Tried restarting windows, same. No new hardware or software was installed, only just did an update to latest version on Win10.
Please help!
Thank you.

Update, can play individual files, but still can no longer use the OS integrated play contents of folder...not good!

Are you saying that if you open files from File Explorer with MediaMonkey that they still fail to play? What File Type(s) are affected?

Hi,
When MM is installed, just as all software integrates into win OS, if you are browsing drives and folders, if the folder contains files that are associated (even if not by default) with the software, you can highlight that folder (i.e Let it Be, with all its flaws, or mp3, or what ever audio files) and menu appears, "open with etc"
In this case as it has been since forever, MM when integrated offers "play in MM" , that option is still there and is no longer working as it returns "not accessible" standard mp3, or any audio file type is now returning the same error.
Was fine up to this morning before the update.
Have tried reseting the associations, check, restart windows, check, no go.
If I use option open folder with VLC, no problem, windows player; no problem.
But for some reason MM has broken windows integration issue as of this update.

Hi,
Thanks for the report. Unfortunately I'm unable to replicate this. I tested:
- mp3, flac, aac files
- 'Open with...' with both regular and Portable installations)
- 'Play in MediaMonkey' with a regular installation
If you navigate to the file via the MediaMonkey folders node (following the exact same path as Windows' File Explorer), does it work correctly?
What version of Windows are you using? Is it possible that a recent Windows update affected things?
Thanks!

Re: Just upgraded Gold 5xxx2531, every audio file no longer plays
Hi,
Opening the audio file itself is not the problem, sorry if I'm not making that part clear.
The problem is highlight a folder and play it, windows10:
Do not open the folder, you don't have to. Just highlight the folder, as long as there are audio files in THAT folder, you get option to open with list of all your audio software with your default player listed first, in this case, MM (does not work on subfolders).
The option is still there, but only works with all other audio players even though MM is listed, MM opens, tries to play it and then gives the error.
My collection spans multiple drives, there was no issue until the update.

Re: Just upgraded Gold 5xxx2531, every audio file no longer plays
When you say that it was working previously, did you mean in MediaMonkey 4? Or MediaMonkey 5.0.1 (from what I can see, this wasn't working in 5.0.1 either)?
Thanks!

Re: Just upgraded Gold 5xxx2531, every audio file no longer plays
I have been using MM for years and its been working this way a long time in the various versions of winxx, lately it is Gold MM 5 on win10, it was working until the latest update was installed today, and which is why I do not install updates immediately when released, wait until the bugs are worked out..lol
