Relocate lossy to lossless Files [#18721]

Post by LifeTheLiving »

Ok, I have a library of 758000+ files, started in 2004 in iTunes with playcount and play date. Later upgraded to MM and imported the files from iTunes to MM with no problem.

However now I upgrade quite a bit of the music from mp3 to flac. However "located moved / Missing files" doesn't match a file with the exact same name, but the old being with extension *.mp3 and the new with extension *.flac. They are in exact the same location too.

However if I just import the new flac and delete the mp3 files, playcount and last played is lost.

I don't know if I'm missing anything or if it's not supposed to do so. It would be useful with an option to manually find the files. Say I have 10 mp3 files. I make a locate and nothing is found, because it is now *.flac files, then in 'Missing files' there could be an option to manually chose the 10 files now in *.flac format and update with them ... Is that possible?

There is no method for this within MediaMonkey 5.

It was possible to replace a file type with another with an Addon in MediaMonkey 4, but this hasn't been updated for MediaMonkey 5.

Thank you for the update.

Unfortunately it has not been done yet. I did read Ludek listing the 'difficulties'.
