Searching playlists and searching with non English characters [#17916]

Post by Einzbern »

I had been using MediaMonkey 4 for years. I recently got a new PC, so I decided to give MediaMonkey 5 a try since I had to install everything again.

Two issues I have run into so far:
1) In MM4, if I opened a playlist and then proceeded to search for something it would only show results from that playlist. In MM5, it still searches my whole library. Is there any way to replicate how it worked(or something similar) in MM4?
2) In MM5 if I search for something with non English characters (Japanese in my case), it doesn't work if they're in the title of the song. It will work if it's in the name of the album, though. Is there any way to fix this?

1) You can type to search or set search scope to current view: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... ual_Search
2) Is Path included in Search (Tools > Options > Search): https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... Search_Bar

1) That's it. Thanks!
2) Path is indeed checked off. When I said title of the song, I meant the title in the id3 data (I think that's what it's called?).

2) I'm unable to reproduce on 2407. I changed the Title to こんにちは and then searched for こんにちは and the file was found. (Note that I don't know Japanese).

Are you searching for the full word in the Title? The Search Mode you set can impact what type of query will find results: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... Search_Bar

Switching to the respect diacritics mode (I was on ignore) and it seems to work. If I try it with the contextual search you pointed out to me earlier, it doesn't. I'll consider it solved since this is only a super minor issue for me.

Thanks for the help!
