Sometimes the columns in the auto-tag dialogbox get so large the box becomes unusable. At first I thought it was a problem with the artwork since that took up almost the entire dialogbox.
No idea why this happens. It seems to come and go. I can provide a screenshot showing how ridiculously large it is.

Re: Column widths too large in auto-tag dialogbox
Actually, I think I figured out steps to reproduce.
In a location sub node viewing files with the following folder structure => Album Artist \ Album, first right-click on an album in the tree pane and select auto-tag. Note the correct column widths. Cancel or OK.
Now, right-click on an album in the tree pane and select auto-tag. You should get a dialog box with no files shown. Cancel.
Finally, right-click on the album you previously clicked in the tree pane and select auto-tag. The column widths are set to maximum widths.
I have not tested it, but I suspect if you have library files in the artist folder in this scenario the problem probably will not happen. I think the lack of music files in that directory is what's causing this.

Re: Column widths too large in auto-tag dialogbox
Out of curiosity I tried this.
Maybe you have a typo in the above sentence?
Anyway I finally triggered the situation you describe.
One I had triggered it once, the problem persisted, even after a reboot of MM5. ... thanks

Workaround while they are getting the problem sorted:
- right click the heading row of the bloated auto-tag panel, and select "automatic column widths"
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.

Yes. It should have said click on an artist, not on an album.
Re: Column widths too large in auto-tag dialogbox
OK, so what are the correct steps? Is it consistently replicable? I am unable to trigger the bug :-/

I was able to reproduce, added as: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=18115
