Playback rules (increase play counter) not working

I set the playback rules to update the play count before the end of the song:

• tools -> options -> player -> playback rules

• Increase play counter at 10%

But the play countrer (and more importantly for me the last played time) only update at the END of the song.

There is another odd behaviour: if (after 10% played) I click BACK to start of track, the counter will go up, but if I click FORWARD to the next track, the play counter does not increment).

This is true for music and videos.

Am I doing something wrong here?

I am running 5.0.1.2431.
