Tranfering Songs To Zen Vision:M Via MediaMonkey?

Post by Son of Spam »

I've reformatted my computer's hard drive and therefore no longer have the Creative Zen Vision:M Media Explorer (I've misplaced the original disc). Creative's website no longer hosts the files and the only place to get them seems to be a fan site. But those files are all haphazardly put together (not to mention that I have to download them in multiple parts).

Is there a way to transfer songs from my computer's hard drive through MediaMonkey into my ZVM?

Which begs the question: is that really the same as syncing?

(Apologies for not putting this in the Device Syncronization forum)

Yes it is the same as syncing and yes you can sync to the Zen.

Thanks, nyn.

But MM says "No active device has been detected. Please reconnect the device or (re)configure it."

That leads me to believe that I still need the original Creative Zen VisionM: files(?). :-?

You shouldn't need the Creative software, it works for me on my laptop without the Creative software. What OS are you using? Do you have the latest firmware? Is the Zen recognized by WMP or Windows Explorer?

I''m using Windows XP. I believe I do have the latest firmware (when was it last offered?).

It's not recognized by WMP or Windows Explorer.

I remember seeing this on the Creative's forum a while ago. Look on their forum in the stickies, there should be a post how to resolve getting Windows to recognize your Zen.

EDIT: Try this post or this one.

Here's one more.

I also do not have the creative software stuff but I do use my Zen Vision M to sync with my MM. Like it was said before you need to get windows to recognize your zen first. I had this problem and I also went to a forum or creative support website to reload the firmwire and reboot the whole thing. Once your computer recognizes your Zen, so should Media Monkey.

Actually, I found the source of my problem:

THE DAMN USB WAS UNPGLUGGED!!!
