Skins

Post by Lowlander »

I'd like to see a better skinning mechanism. Currently 3 full skins are included. These are neat, but the problem is that all the skin parts are not individually accessible (select another background for library window is not possible from those). This especially is annoying when choosing other player skins from winamp.

In other words it probably would be nice to have all the different skin parts in seperated files in their appropriate skin folder, I guess. This would allow users to mix and match to their prefference. (This type of customization is enabled in MM currently).

I think it is mentioned before or maybe I even posted something, but I can't find it for the moment. I would like to be able to change the size of fonts in MM, most importantly in the library window and the now playing list. The tree would be nice, but is less important. Of course in the best case scenario you would be able to adjust the font (color, size, type, ect) for each window independently in the program. This could either be done with skins or from the user side in the options (I prefer user side).

I also am experiencing problems with imported skins. In several skins parts of it are misplaced, kind of leaving a mess (ex. Water Elemental, Nucleo Nlog v102, ExpensiveHi-Fi, all top rated skins by winamp).

A problem with using WinAmp skins in the first place is that not all functionality that is build into these skins works, as those options are not available in MM.

And I'm wondering about level meter (I think that's what they're called, displays something like volume for different frequencies) support. Many WinAmp (if not all) skins intergrate this, so I'm wondering if MM supports this currently (and how can I see that than). Or if any support for this will be included in a future release of MM (not really needed, but would be nice).

Is there skin developer program for MM, and if so, where is can I download. If not how do I make these skin files with all the skins in them?

Urgency: Font soon, rest would be nice
