genre /subgenre

Post by chegroth »

In ID3tag Version 2 you can select more than one genre for a track.

What i would like do to is that:
tagging the track with e.g. 3 genres:
1. Rock
2. Metal
3. Deathmetal
(in this order)

Then it would be nice if i could create a node "genre" that displays the first genres (in my example "Rock").
I click on "Rock" then the 2. genre is displayed.
I click on "Metal" and so on until the last genre is found and than the artists are displayed.

Is something like that or similar possible?

You could use your 3 Custom fields in Media Monkey.

I wouldn't want to sacrifice them all for this though. I use my Custom 3 field that I have called "Description" I use it as a keyword search field for things like decade, primary genre etc.
I have a Magic Node set-up to list these too.
Description\<Description>\<Album Artist>

Your solutions sounds interesting.
Can you give me the Code for the Magic Node?
