1350: Single file Play Now doesn't work [#7285]

When on the "Music" node or any subnode, double clicking or selecting "Play Now" with a single file selected no longer works in 1346. In previous releases it would add everything in the current node and start playing that file. In the new release the toolbars flicker and the "Now Playing" list just clears. Selecting multiple files does correctly set those as the only content in "Now Playing" and "Play Next" and "Play Last" do both add items to Now Playing.

What's your Play Now action for the Music Collection (Tools > Options > Playback Rules)? Should the node selected in the Music Collection show a single file for this to happen?

In all these scenarios right click Play Now or double click on song works for me as expected.

I can't get music files to play either ever since upgrading to 1346 (played fine in 1345). Video files still play as expected.

Found the combination that's problematic:

Playback Rules/Play Now: "Clear tracks & play selected + subsequent"
View: "Show Art with Details"

It doesn't matter how many files or albums are visible. Changing "Play Now" to either "Clear tracks & play selected only" or "Play selected tracks only" fixes the problem, as does changing the view to just "Show Details". I tried selecting both a standalone song and one in the middle of an album and it was the same in either case.

I can verify with Boramis. I couldn't get my music to play and my settings were as follows:

Playback Rules/Play Now: "Clear tracks & play selected + subsequent"
View: "Show Art with Details"

Every other view worked while the playback rule was set to "clear tracks & play selected + subsequent". When i changed the option to "clear tracks & play selected", it also worked again in "show art with details" view.

Wanted to add that it only happens if you select a single track in AA + Details view. If you click on album art (and it selects multiple tracks at once), then the bug does not occur.

This is still partially broken in 1350. If you select a different tree node than what's currently in "Now Playing" and double click a file it still doesn't do anything. If you then select a different file in the same node and double click it it will start playing that and "Now Playing" will repopulate. Double clicking on the first file a second time (without changing the selection) doesn't work, though it does work if you do it after starting the second file. I'm seeing it when the "Play Now Action" is set to either "Clear list & play selected + subsequent" or "Clear list & play selected", but not "Play selected files only".

Interesting... if I switch between two artists nodes in the Music/Artist & Album Artist node it behaves like I described above. Switching back and forth between "Music" and "Artist & Album Aritist/xyz" works most of the time.

Narrowed it down a bit more: You can't double-click to start playing a song if it's the initial selection when you visit a node *or* if you move from that song to another using the keyboard (arrow keys or typing the artist name).

These steps work:

1) Select Music/Artist & Album Artist/Metallica
2) Double click on the third file listed (selection changed using the mouse, music starts playing)
3) Select Music/Artist & Album Artist/Megadeth
4) Double click on the third file listed (selection changed using the mouse, music starts playing)

These steps don't:

1,2,3) As above
4) Double click on the first file listed (selection not changed)

Nor these:

1,2) As above
3) Select Music/
4) Single-click on the selected file (to give it keyboard focus)
5) Arrow up or down to select a file or start typing an artist name (selection changed through keyboard)
6) Double click or press enter on the selected file. Music doesn't change.

Incidentally, it will crash if you follow the third set of steps and arrow from one album to another (crash submitted).
