Auto-sync creates duplicates on Nexus 4

Post by iwishihadaburger »

MediaMonkey can't seem to keep a consistent sync with my Nexus 4. Every time I run a sync (even immediately after running an auto-sync), it finds some "old content" that is either duplicates created on an earlier sync or tracks that shouldn't be flagged for deletion (I have no clue why they're being flagged for deletion). Then it copies about 50-100 tracks over, creating duplicates in several random places. More irritatingly, it sometimes overwrites existing tracks with the same content, but appending _1 to the filename. (Ends up looking like 04 Song Title_1.mp3)

There seems to be several problems:
1. Not scanning completely for content that should be deleted or renamed
2. Creating duplicates in a random pattern
3. Appending filenames with _1, _2, etc... (sometimes it removes the original and I have a non-duplicate but bad filename situation, sometimes it leaves the original and I end up with duplication)

I'm running stock Android 4.2 on the phone, and the d_WMDM.dll device plugin in Media Monkey Windows 4.1.0.1609, and attempting to sync about 1500 songs. I've tried clearing everything out of my music folder and starting over, but once I attempt that second sync things start going wrong. There's nothing running on my phone that would corrupt the track names, so I'm not sure why the MediaMonkey pre-sync scan isn't IDing things correctly.

P.S. This all worked fine while I was using the Google Play Music app, but got messed up as soon as I installed MMA and tried WiFi sync. Just trying to get USB sync working now... forget about WiFi
