The setup is: MMW 1638 build running on Windows 7, and the latest MMA 0133 on a Droid X2 gingerbread, music stored on an external card. I use MMW to sync to the phone, wireless sync to sync (only) playcount info from the phone to MMW, and USB sync to update playlists etc.
Yesterday I just happened to notice that a particular song was played on the droid but did not have the right "last play" date in MMW after a wireless sync. So I played the song again with the same result. I then played the whole album. The playcounts for all of the songs on the album, and their associated last play dates, were correct, except for two. These two songs were:
Hey Hey, My My (Out of the Blue) and Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black).
Suspicious, I then created an autoplaylist with 74 minutes of random music, with the criterion being that there was a "(" in the title. I created a second autoplaylist of songs, this time requiring that "(" not be in the title. I have now played the "(" playlist 2.5 times, and the "not (" playlist once.
Of the 12 songs on the "(" playlist, only one is updating in MMW, and it updated all three times I played it. On the other hand, the "not (" playlist songs updated properly in MMW when I synced.
I have been searching for a while and have seen reports of anything like this. I should also mention that I scrobble to last.fm using the last.fm app, and I have a history of the plays there. Scrobble percentage is set to 100%, and I have visual and audio confirmation that the tracks are actually completing.
Any thoughts, replication attempts, etc. will be most appreciated!

problem syncing playcount / history from MMA to MMW [#1641]

Re: problem syncing playcount and history from MMA to MMW
Quick update: looking at the mmstore.db file on the phone, it is clear that the problematic tracks are not getting logged in MMA. So in other words I can read the tables and see that the songs I've played but that haven't updated in MMW do not have entries in the Modifications table in MMA. So that's where the issue seems to be.
Apart from this I'm afraid that I can't be much help figuring out what's going on, and would *love* to get others to test this systematically

playcount syncing between MMW and MMA
Hi all,
In trying to track down this problem: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 21&t=71759, I have finally figured out that the tracks that aren't getting updated properly in MMW have a wifi item id = -2 in the mmstore.db file on the phone. I presume this is a missing data value, and it looks to me like this field is where MMA houses the id that MMW uses in its database (hence, I think it was put there by MMW, which is why I am posting here). As a rough guess, I'd say that about 10% of my tracks on the Android phone have that -2 value in that column. And from what I can tell from a debug log, it is these tracks that are not updating properly.
Are my assumptions right? And there anything I do about it? I am not getting any snyc error messages when I transfer music from MMW to MMA.
I can submit a debug etc. sometime tomorrow if desired. The setup is: MMW 1638 build running on Windows 7, and MMA 0133 on a Droid X2 gingerbread, music stored on an external card. I use MMW to sync to the phone, wireless sync to sync (only) playcount info from the phone to MMW, and USB sync to update playlists etc.
Thanks a ton,
Jeff

I just submitted a ticket with debug logs. Fingers crossed!

Does this work for you in build 1641? It was 'fixed' but there seem to be a fair number of sync regressions

Hi Rusty, thanks for following up.
I just downloaded 1641 and from what I can tell, it works fine. I'll keep testing and will let you know if I see any problems.
