Media receiver recognizes mediamonkey UPnP server, but...

Post by Busto963 »

Question and issue:

Q: I have stored my collection almost exclusively as .wav files, with a few FLACs: is it possible to bypass the auto conversion to mp3 when streaming?

Issue: My media receiver recognizes the mediamonkey upnp server, but when I select it (mediamonkey) in the receiver, it shows the files are empty.
  • I have enabled media sharing.

Allow control of media monkey via DLNA/UPnP is checked.

The server IP port is set for 4000 (it did not work on the default port of4448 either).

I have checked all for collections and playlists under the content tab. And there is content showing in albums etc..
What is going on here?

You can change Auto-Conversion settings in the settings for the Media Server (Tools > Options > Media Sharing).

How do I get MM to *not* auto convert my files? I intentionally stored them as wav and a few FLACs, and that is how I want to stream them.

Do I delete all of the auto convert rules?

You can delete (or disable) the rules, but also set the Supported Formats to the formats you want to stream.

Okay thanks.

But what about the "empty file" problem with the DLNA/UPnP server?

Anyone?

Do you mean that nothing is shown when selecting the MediaMonkey server?

Exactly.

The media player sees the MM server, connects, but when it scans the MM server, it returns the value "empty". This is very frustrating.

Do you have other clients that connect to MediaMonkey and if so do they see the content? Also note that you can customize what is shared with a specific client (make sure you didn't or if you did that you shared something).

If that doesn't resolve a debug log (step 4b) send to support may show more: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=20&t=69
