No media showing - but can see playlists
Hi all.
Using the latest version of MMA (beta), I had a weird new problem this morning. Everything was fine last night, and I was listening to music. My battery did die while I was listening to a podcast, but I use BeyondPod for that. MediaMonkey was not playing when my battery died and phone shut down.
I have about 8 playlists, and a total of about 1000 tracks on my SD card of my Galaxy Note 2. In the list of playlists, all playlists show up, and they show the proper number of tracks in each (unlike my previous problem where the playlists would show as "empty"). The problem is when I click on any playlist, the track list is completely blank, and I get the message "Debug logs have been uploaded. Thank you". Mediamonkey then crashes.
I have not done a sync recently, and all music has been on the card for at least a week and working fine. Other apps can see and play the music, and everything else on the SD card is good as well, only MMA is having the problem.
Did something get corrupted? Do I need to start over on the device?
Edited to add I am using the latest Beta, with MMA Pro also installed.
Thanks,
ScottieB

Re: No media showing - but can see playlists
I am having almost the same exact issue on 2 different devices (an HTC Thunderbolt & a Motorola Maxx), but I am not doing any syncing. I have had to restore my playlists multiple times when MMA seems to empty them. Now, however, all I have to do is select a playlist and I get the message about debug logs and the crash. I have submitted crash dumps from both of my devices. I have had to stop using MMA until this issue gets resolved. Be sure to reference the fix in the What's New section for the update, or I will not know when to start using it again.

Happy to report: Today there was an update in the play store. I installed it, ran it, and MMA did a "rebuilding database" which took a few minutes and then everything was back to normal!

Not for me. Tracks appear to be all there but my playlists are empty ..

After the latest update and database rebuilding my Playlists were empty. However I resynced and all is fine.

Re: No media showing - but can see playlists
Interesting indeed -- I didn't have to sync for everything to work again. I have since done a sync and still all good.
Glad it's working though!

Re: No media showing - but can see playlists
My playlists ale all empty too after auto-update the new mm release.
After a new resync with the mm Server everything was fine again, but it's annoying to sync all music after every update of a new beta apk.

Re: No media showing - but can see playlists
This was the first time an update caused empty playlists for me. I wouldn't be surprised if an eager user (me tapping screen or starting playback from widget before opening MMA after update) caused the problem.

Re: No media showing - but can see playlists
I can say that this was a whole new problem for me. I've had playlists that read "empty" instead of a number before, but never had them still say the right number but then be blank and crash the app when I try to open them. Same thing happened when I tried "artists" or "albums" etc. But unlike the others here I didn't need to resync for it to go away, either. Just running the newest version fixed it (after the 'rebuilding database').
Playlist empty after reinstall
Hi there, I updated my Android (cm11) and reinstalled MediaMonkeyBeta
On the first run of MM it said 'reprocessing database' (or something similar) and when I checked my playlists, they were all empty.
Have I dumped my playlists or can I restore them somehow?
thanks,
simon

(Bug) MMA update empties all playlists
The last two updates to MMA (84, 85) have started out with the dialogue (rebuilding database ) or something to that effect. I don't know what that is supposed to be doing but I will tell you what it actually does. It clears every one of my playlists! I have a large number of playlists and they were all working fine prior to the update and then once the update finished they all say empty! What on earth is going on here? Can you at least put a warning in in the update dialog which says "this update will clear all of your playlists". Thanks!

Re: No media showing - but can see playlists
same problem-playlists show but nothing is in 5/6 playlists. One of the playlists is ok. All of the playlists were generated on my desktop version of Mediamonkey and moved to the android.

Looks like my post got moved into this thread.
Is anyone working on this? Is it a bug or are we supposed to resync each time we update in the future?
