"Downloading" songs already on phone

Hi, I believe I read that it downloads songs again to get the data for the playcount from the phone. Is there anyway to turn this off? It makes the wireless syncing a much longer process than necessary, especially when only trying to update the phone with one or two songs.

It doesn't re-sync the songs for playcounts, this should be a database (MMA) to database (MMW) transfer.

As far as tag metadata I wouldn't be surprised if it did re-sync so that the tag updates are also available for any other Apps on the device. There is no option controlling this behavior.
