Hello all. I have looked through the forum and can not seem to find any threads regarding this. I have used MMW for about eight years or so and recently got an android galaxy tab pro. I rarely use my laptop for anything other than MMW, which maps the music from my external hard drive. I purchased a new wireless external hard drive, Seagate Wireless Plus, and my goal is to map my music (roughly 320 gigs) straight to my tablet and no longer need my laptop. When I look in the "Folder" section to map to the hard drive the only option that shows up is internal storage. I have downloaded Total Commander and can access all of the files on the hard drive, but can not figure out how to make the hard drive show up as an option under folders. I downloaded the Beta version of MMA and that did not allow access. I can use UPnP and it recognizes and plays the media files from the hard drive, but I would like them mapped as they are on MMW in order to edit and manage the collection. Is what I would like to do possible?
I hope I am explaining this properly and appreciate any help anyone can offer.
Thanks,
Terry

Re: MMA sync directly to wireless HD with no MMW
MMA can't sync, it's MMW that does the syncing even if you start a wifi sync from MMA. MMA can't access network shares, it can only access internal, external and OTG mounted USB storage.

Re: MMA sync directly to wireless HD with no MMW
Thanks Lowlander. I have a wireless external hard drive. I have mounted the hard drive wirelessly and via USB and can not seem to access through MMA. Once mounted via USB the hard drive should show up as a file location in "folder" correct?
Re: MMA sync directly to wireless HD with no MMW
Mounted via USB directly to your Android device? Then yes, it should show in Folders (check with a File Explorer on your device it if is seen). I believe some work was done related to this in the latest betas of MMA so you may want to try that from the Google Play store if you're not running it already.

Yes, mounted USB directly to android tablet. I can not see it with the device's file explorer. It does show up with Total Commander. I am running the latest beta version.

Then it may not be properly supported by your device. A developer may be able to debug.

Thanks Lowlander. Is anyone out there running MMA via a mounted USB external hard drive?
