Disc numbers are messing up my track order.

Post by Ben425 »

I have two questions.

1) How do I get MMA to ignore disc numbers?

For my music collection I put different albums into one album and change the track numbers. However, as a reference I don't change any song's original disc number. MMW doesn't have a problem with this, but MMA will jumble my track order based on disc numbers. Will I have to delete all my disc numbers to make my library organized on MMA?

2) Why aren't my album artists in MMA showing up as various?

Every song in my collection has been tagged as "Various," yet each album shows a random artist from its album in the header. It's the same in Album Artists. Shouldn't everything be showing up as Various? What's going on?

1) You can't, Disc# is an integral part of Album sort.

2) Is Album Artist tagged with Various?

Lowlander, thanks for the response.

1) That's a bummer. I'll have to delete the disc numbers then.

2) Yes, every single song is tagged with "Various" as the album artist, but each album has one random artist as its album artist. I'd like to show you with a pic but it doesn't appear like we can add attachments here.

2) Which version of MMA?

PS. you can use a service like imgur.com to add screenshots to posts.

It's version 1.1.2.0415

But nevermind. I just retagged everything without the disc #'s and now the album artists are showing up as various, as they should. I have no clue why. Oh well, I'm happy. Thanks for your help!
