Not sure about MMW because it's not in front of me but it's whatever the latest gold version is. Installed a month or so ago. The MMA version is 1.20.0624.

Versions matter as they often contain mutual fixes. I believe this has been addressed recently. You may need both at their latest betas though to have it work.

Ratings from device MMA will not sync to MMW
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 using Android 6.0.1 and I am syncing via USB with my Windows 7 desktop using Mediamonkey 4.1.14.1813 free version. I have successfully synced about 20,000 songs with playlists to the device using the Windows MTP profile and the d_WMDM.dll profile onto a Sandisk 128 gb micro sd card. I remove the card from the phone and load it into a card adapter and insert the adapter into an adapter slot in my computer.
The songs and playlists worked well. I want to sync ratings changes that I make on the phone back to the desktop via the same system of card in the card adapter inserted into the card slot on my computer. However, ratings changes made on my phone using MMA ( Version 1.2.0.0624) free version in that profile setup will not sync back to the computer.
I installed the sync back plug in for MMW, formatted the micro sd card and installed the Generic Portable/Audio Device plug-in as instructed on the Mediamonkey site to setup the profile for a mass storage device. Now, despite unchecking the MTP profile and checking the USBmass1.dll choice I cannot get MMW to recognize the device to configure it. Windows recognizes the device without difficulty but MMW does not see it. The Windows MTP profile works well for me with the exception of not being able to sync back the ratings changes.
Questions:
1. Can I sync back ratings via usb to my MMW from MMA without using the generic portable/audio device plugin? If so, how?
2. If I do need to use the generic portable audio device plug-in is there a trick to getting MMW to recognize and configure it?
Thanks for your help

Re: ratings from device no longer sync to windows
Unfortunately any Android Device Pass 4.0.3 (Correct me if I'm wrong) have disabled MSC mapping on device connect and MTP is only Optionmdmasterson wrote:Now, despite unchecking the MTP profile and checking the USBmass1.dll choice I cannot get MMW to recognize the device to configure it.

For ratings as there are number of changes and fixes use latest MMW 4.1.15 Beta and MMA 1.3.0 Beta.

Re: ratings from device no longer sync to windows
Mediamonkey Sync Issues
I am still having issues with syncing my Mediamonkey for Windows Version 4.1.15.1827 to my Samsung Note 4 using Mediamonkey Android Beta Version 1.3.0.0673 running Android Version 6.0.1. Both Mediamonkey programs are free versions. I want to be able to sync songs with ratings to the device and equally important to be able to sync updated ratings back to MMW via USB with the sd card removed from the phone if possible.
I have a large number of files (17,500 about 90 gb). I am using the latest builds of both programs and have tried USB syncs directly to my 128 gb micro sd card using a usb card reader vs USB sync through my Samsung Note 4 to the card leaving the card in the phone (I have not attempted WiFi syncs).
With both methods of USB syncs, my Windows 7 Professional HP desktop readily identifies the Note 4 and micro sd card or the USB connected 128 gb micro sd that is removed from the Note 4 and connected via a card reader.
I start by formatting the 128 gb card with the phone, then I open the MMA app and grant access to the card. I then either remove the card and connect to the desktop via a card reader or on alternate attempts connect the Note 4 via usb to the desktop. The devices are readily identified by Windows by either method.
I configure the portable device for
Autosync
Sync to default folders for Music and Playlists on the sd card
I sync 6 playlists
Sync back to computer is checked
Under device configuration I have checked “Use only the first Genre when multiple Genres exist”
Use only the first value when multiple Artists / Composers exist" for maximum device compatibility is checked
The sync successfully transfers about 90 gb of files (files seem to transfer successfully). I clear the cache on my Android media scanner app and allow media scanner to rescan the micro sd card. I then either wait for media scanner to finish scanning or simultaneously start MMA to begin scanning. On repeated attempts, I clear the cache on both media scanner and MMA.
Scanning seems to be endless with the MMA animated process circle whirling for more than 24 hours. The playlists are populated with the proper number of files within the first 4-6 hours. However, artwork and most importantly ratings do not appear (at least by 24 hours). It seems that artwork continues to appear as the processing grinds on and I have not allowed MMA to process the files beyond 36 hours.
Questions:
Does it make sense to allow MMA to process files beyond 36 hours?
Due to the large number of files is it possible that it would take days to finish scanning and hence to present artwork and ratings?
Is it problematic that no ratings appear 36 hours into the MMA processing or are the ratings added last to the track info and I need to be more patient?
Are there any other settings that I could try to successfully see ratings and equally important be able to sync changed / updated ratings back to MMW?
Does usb syncing with the sd card removed from the phone increase the odds of sync problems vs syncing with the card left in the phone?
I have considered reinstalling MMW in portable mode with all files on a 256 gb USB stick to use between my Windows 7 desktop and my Windows 7 laptop. Is that likely to present more issues than the current setup on one desktop as described above? Or should I have equal odds of success with portable mode?

Re: ratings from device no longer sync to windows
Accessing the DB from flash drive can be slow (maybe USB 3.1 Gen 2 would solve it) but except DB access MM should work same.
I even prefer Portable to regular installation due the fact I can more easily backup whole installation.
Can you please do the following:
1. Send log before you Insert SD Card and MMA starts to scan
2. Send one when MMA starts to load tracks in Library
3. One after few hours
4. finally another one after few more hours
Write log IDs here and we will check why and what is stalling the scan to se if we missed something and or we can improve things.
