Behaviour when phone charging and press bt remote [#14090]

Hi,

When my phone is charging i have the numeric time displayed :



When i use MMA in my car, i use a bluetooth stereo receiver and remote, the Sony SBH20 :



With my previous phone (Motorola Moto G2), when it was in the "time" state and i was listening my music with MMA in my car, the first press on a button of my bluetooth remote trigged a back to MMA without apply the button action, and once MMA was displayed, the second press trigged the action (next, previous...).

With my new phone (Motorola Moto G4), when it is in the same "time state", the button action is trigged since the first press. For instance if i press "next" : MMA play the next song but the screen stay with time displayed.

I liked the old behaviour, i used it to view album arts.

My old and my new phone use the same android version 6.

I don't know if this behaviour is about the phone, android or MMA.

Can you help me ?

Hi,
You should set that MMA icon is always shown and that MMA re announce itself as Media player for commands, that should fix the problem with BT commands. Only downside could be little less battery time.

You mean set "always" to the "show in notifications bar" setting ?

If yes, i tried to change it from 3 minutes (defautl) to always but i have the same issue

Nonob,

It sounds as if the problem is that MMA is 'too' responsive. Perhaps try experimenting with the MMA options to 'Always respond to remote buttons' and 'Resume play on connection' (only on MMA 1.3.0 (beta atm).

I tried enable and disable both always respond to remote button and resume play on connection : same issue.

I also tried to change screensaver settings and to entire disable locking : same issue.

I have 1.3.0.0677 MMA version.

Is it possible to add an MMA optoin to wake screen on first bluetooth action (only when phone is plugged will be better) ?

Did you find the option in the Developer panel? i.e.

Menu > About MediaMonkey > Tap the 'MediaMonkey' icon a few times
--> Developer Options screen appears
Enable 'Wake up on first bluetooth action'

I have some questions :

1- This option only works when "daydream" is enabled. Could it be use even without daydream, when screen goes completly off ou when dimming ?

2-i have a little annoyance but it isn't mma fault : on first bluetooth action, the screen goes to screen lock where i have to "swipe to unlock", even when my phone is unlocked with bluetooth trusted device thought smart lock (i again have to swipe to unlock).
I have MMA notification on this lock screen so i have what i want : see my now playing track, but it will be better if i could go straight to MMA.

I think there nothing to do with stock screen lock because it how it works. Maybe i could try a screen lock replacement app but i don't want for the moment.

So i think a workaround could be to force my screen to be "on" when MMA is running. I remember i created a topic about that some month ago but i didn't had replies :

I use "stay alive" app wich works but do you think you could add an option in MMA to do the same (keep screen alive when mma is running foreground, with dimmer if possible) ?
