Maintain library (with Optimize database complete) time estimate?

Hi, I started the "Maintain Library" on my portable MM4 install.
I have about 20k mp3s on the same disk as MM portable is running off (SSD) and additional 20k or so on my NAS.
Was experiencing really slow AutoPlaylists and thought this could help solving that issue.

However....its still running after 36h or so, there is no progress indications other than I can see the MM.DB file gets updated now and then.
How long should/could this take and can I safely abort it (no I did not make a copy of the DB before starting)

About 5 minutes for 31000 files on my second hard disk.

Options checked:

• Clear Virtual CD Entries
  Clear Preview Entries
  Rebuild Full-Text Search Index
  Optimise Database Complete

Oh crap.....then something is not right on my side it seems :/

EDIT: I just force quit MM4. Restarted fine, then run the quick option a few times, then did a complete which finished in 5 or so minutes here as well.
