Good morning everyone.
I would like to export the contents (several GB) of a playlist to a windows folder for a friend, while maintaining a structure similar to "Artist \ Album Title \ Songs".
How can I do?
I used to use a beautiful plugin but I see it is not supported by MM5. (http://solair.eunet.rs/~zvezdand/Export ... bNodes.htm)
If I use the standard export, it exports all the single songs to me without any criteria or order.
Thank you

Re: Export playlist help
Hi Katatonik,
Are you looking to copy the MP3 files referenced in a Playlist to a drive / folder? I will assume we are talking about MUSIC MP3s.
1). Send To
Select the Playlist and right click and Send To / Folder (Copy) ....
The problem with this is that there will be no folder structure. All the files in the ONE selected folder.
2). Pen Drive Sync
Set a USB drive up and make sure MMW sees it as a device. Perhaps create a top-level folder "MUSIC"
In the Aut0-Sync ---> Device "Choose which files..." select the Playlist(s)
Under the Options / File Locations set the Sync Files to: for the Music type to something like:
\Music\<Album Artist>\<Album>\<Disc#><Track#:2>-<Title>
I personally like to prefix with the Disc Number and Track Number and prefer Album Artist (e.g. Various) rather than Artist.
3). Device Sync e.g. Tablet or Phone
As with 2 but direct to your friend's "Device"
Hope this helps.

thank you,
in fact I didn't think I could do it this way, as I already do to transfer music to my mobile ...
I thought there were other methods.

Auto-Organize Files can be set to Copy instead of Move, but Sync can do the job too.

Hi,
In addition to Lowlander above. Personally I think you can simply setup Local sync to Folder eg. Devices and services -> Storage and Services -> ⋮ -> Local folder and there you set things up like any other sync device. (HINT: Use relative paths for playlists as it will correctly point to files)

No problem, one of the "Sync" options is probably best.katatonik76 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 11, 2022 10:34 am thank you,

The only thing to watch - if you sync several times - is NOT to allow synching back from the device to your Windows computer.
Uncheck the "Auto-Sync File Metadata from the Device to the PC" to prevent this. You might not be too pleased if - say - your rating get "replaced" by those on your friend's device.
