I recently upgraded to an iPhone SE from an iPhone 6s. All the music on the 6s was transferred via MMW5. I moved all my data to the new phone;. Now, MMW5 doesn't recognize the music on the phone, but will recognize new music moved to the phone.
I'm using MMW 5.03.26.27 with the latest CopyTrans drivers.
Is there any way to see the music that's currently on the phone?
I've also noticed that copying music over to the phone also sometimes overwrites existing music (unrecognized by MMW5) with the new tracks (sent from MMW5) even though the old track data stays the same. Adding in case it helps troubleshoot. E.g.:
MMW Music Listing for Old Phone
Track 1
Track 2
Track 3
MMW Music Listing for New Phone
<No visible old tracks in MMW.>
Track 4
Track 5
Phone View and Playing
Track 1
Track 2 <Actually plays Track 4 even though view shows original Track 2 information.>
Track 3
Track 4 <Also plays Track 4, as expected.>
Track 5

Re: New iPhone won't read library transferred from old iPhone.
I'm also noticing that the icon for the phone under Devices looks like a USB fob — versus a friend's same iPhone model that is listed with an icon that looks like a phone. Could it be that the device is somehow not being recognized as a phone?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? MMW5 is really scrambling the music already on my phone.

Hi,
I would suggest that you clean sync new phone with same settings you used on old phone. Device IDs are most likely mixed and MM can't know what Migrating app was made to device

Thanks, Peke
I thought I did that already. How would I delete the current profile to re-sync? Or is there a way to clean sync without deleting the profile?
Edit: I deleted the profile and reconnected. When I synced, it still only reads the new albums I've synced since using the new phone — about 7 albums. The rest shows up as "Other" in the bar at the bottom of the Summary tab.

Hi,
That is because Migration process did not migrated sync library correctly, which is expected as mm sync logs are not part of Apple device migration files (considered third party/not important) and they are classified as other.
If you do not want to wipe all media from device, the best chance way would be to rebuild DB in iTunes and then resync with MM or Rebuild db with iTunes -> Delete all Tracks in iTunes and then do a clean sync with MM.

Re: New iPhone won't read library transferred from old iPhone - also scrambles library.
Is it still possible to pull the sync log if I have my old phone?
I'm confused as to why MM is unable to read the music on the device, in general.

They would not matter as Defice ID different, that is why they do not work. Apple is controlling how Device ID is calculated.
Answer is simple, Apple controls who and what can access their devices, we are allowed to do only that Apple allow us, so if feature is not available for third party apps then ... If there is MM for iOS device (do not get hopes high, we tried many years ago and they ... [long story not for public]) like for Android then there would be no issues because MM would control hat is synced on device, which I think Apple will never allow legally.

Thanks, Peke. I appreciate your explanation.
It sounds like the short answer is that the only way to sync MM5 and a new iPhone is to delete and re-copy the library.
I wonder if others might find information like this helpful in the documentation for syncing.
