My car has a player software that always defaults back to playing media with track titles in alphabetical order.
With several thousand tracks on a USB drive, this can be quite annoying.
How can I batch edit a playlist to add an incremental number in front of the track title?
Batch changing file name with incremental number

Re: Batch changing file name with incremental number
I fear this bulk-rename would defeat any future syncs by MM5 from your computer.
Also, if in fact you are using a playlist, renaming the files will disconnect them from the playlist, will it not?
Are your files all in one single folder, or subfolder by album or something? This might also complicate matters.
It might be possible to use mediamonkeys autoorganize tool with the copy option, and use the variable to add a random number in the filename to do this as well.
I have not tried this, was just looking at the options for it.

You can do this on Sync by using <Auto Number> in the Filename.
