I then tried configuring Grid View via the Manage Views facility
I got crash A14A7114 ("everyWhere is not defined"). The dump was submitted to you.

Re: 5.1.0.2802 - Manage Views Crash & Grid View missing Sort By control
Hi Barry4679
I have missed the same and have opened ticket for it:
1: In the VIEWS (build 2802) I no longer see the SORTED BY section.
2: The insertion Composer cannot be tested (see above) ?
1. Sort is now done via Column Headers like other Views. (thus it's not in the menu anymore)
2. Sort on Rating (average Album Rating) was added.
No other changes have been implemented yet. Like mentioned the problem is that sorting is provided on columns that have the same value for the Album, whereas this isn't the case for Composer. So far the design choice has been to only provide sort on fields that have the same value for all files on the Album, this will probably remain the case

Re: 5.1.0.2802 - Manage Views Crash & Grid View missing Sort By control
Hi Carsten
Does that make any sense to you? ... Grid View has no Columns
[UPDATE] Oh I see that they have returned to the MM4 approach where the Grid has a header bar, containing sort buttons.
I suppose it is better to have grid sorting controls front¢re, instead of having it buried down as an anomaly in the drop down menu. ... Is good to see that have ascending|descending sort option, and guess that you are pleased to have your sort by ratings.

I get the crash during View editing (via Manage Views), not just with new Views.

This has also been my approach. The description was created by the MM5 staff.

Re: 5.1.0.2802 - Manage Views Crash & Grid View missing Sort By control
Was already addressed in this thread, but thanks.
You need to work on your terminology before updating Online Help with this enhancement .
The Grid View has no column, hence no "column headers".
That description will only create confusion and support requirements.
