Rating problems in Android Auto [#19979]
I only can give songs 0 - 2 stars. When is it possible to rate them 5 stars?
Re: Media Monkey for Android no longer works with Android auto
In Android Auto or in MMA itself? Which Build of MMA are you using and how exactly does it fail?

Re: Rating problems in Android Auto [#19979]
I just give songs five stars. There is one star on android auto on the left side at the bottom with a cero inside. I click on it and it the cero is a two now. When I click again it is changing to one and when I click again on the star it changes to cero. Now it doesn't matter how often I touch star, the cero dose not go back to two. It would be great if android auto has also 5 stars at the screen.
Re: Rating problems in Android Auto [#19979]
The one showing is likely the rating down button (ie. it wouldn't go up, that it does is a bug). In the 3 dots is the Rating Up button.

Re: Rating problems in Android Auto [#19979]
fyi, we've fixed the layout of rating arrows in beta build 1084 (Up/Down arrows are now side by side in the overflow menu).
More fixes are planned re. behavior of the buttons.

Re: Rating problems in Android Auto [#19979]
Hi @rusty,
1) I'm sorry but moving the rating buttons to the overflow Menu is really bad.
I rate my songs while driving and now with the new layout I need to jump all the time between overlay and normal mode to click on the position slider. That's risky during driving.
Can the rating buttons be on the main menu and e.g. The previous and next buttons move to the overflow menu? all steering wheels have these both buttons, so they are duplicate.
2) Or could there be a extra Rating screen with play pause button and position slider as alternative playing screen?
3) Also I liked that for unrated songs the up or down started with 3 stars. It saved a lot of clicks while driving.
4) Maybe some screen like shown here: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view ... 825#c71787 can be implemented? I miss the half star ratings
What do you think?
Thanks, Cyd

No Feedback?
Re: Rating problems in Android Auto [#19979]
I agree with Cyd.
In order to have the rating button in the main screen I had to roll back to an old version od the app.
I suggest to let the user to choose the left button in the main screen.

Just got the latest beta and saw that the rating is back. Really cool! Thanks rusty!
I will try the new concept.

Re: Rating problems in Android Auto [#19979]
To explain:
Build 1152 (the current release) allows UP and DOWN ratings via Android Auto, but to get to those buttons you have to click the ⋮ button in the player and those buttons will persist in the player for the duration of the session. So this approach allows you to quickly rate tracks up/down once you activate the ratings, but the downside is that:
- you have to activate the ratings via the overflow menu
- the notifications player shows a DOWN ratings button (one would normally expect an UP button there)
In build 1156 (the current beta), there's a single UP rating button that appears directly in the player. This approach allows you to rate tracks directly in the player without first tapping the overflow menu, BUT it requires more taps to rate a track 5 stars (0 --> 1 --> 2 --> 3 --> 4 --> 5) or to reduce the rating of a track (e.g. 4 --> 5 --> 0 --> 1 --> 2 ---> 3).
Looking forward to feedback on which implementation is preferred.
Thanks!

Re: Rating problems in Android Auto [#19979]
Hi,
In my opinion beta 1156 is an improvement. I prefer dealing with a single rating up of beta 1156 rather then two persistent rating buttons in a window where you cannot see properly the album art
