Editing and managing COMPILATION tag/flag

I've learned that MM(5) is not USING the compilation flag (compilation = 1) to identify compilation albums.

But I wondered, while MM5 is indexing this tag and has it in its database, if there is any (easy) was to manage and edit it (for some other tools / players NEED it).

For example:
I wanna select all albums with albumartist = "Various Artists" that have no compilation tag resp. compilation tag <> 1.

The only way is to filter for "Albumartist = Various Artists" and then "see" the column "extended tags" ...
But I can't sort them (for there is usually more than only the "compilation" tag) and I can't filter for it, or do I overlook something (eg Filtering "Extended Tags includes "Compilation")?

Same with the "releasetype"-tag - I see no way to manage it...
