I have a USB drive which is about 32GB. I wanted to sync it with MM again as I lost it for ages, but it was taking so long (over a day) that I cancelled it, deleted all the files from it and then tried to resync. This again took hours, so I formatted the drive and tried again, but to no avail. Syncing does happen, but INCREDIBLY slowly.
Any idea what i can do to speed it up please? This has never been a problem previously.
Thank you.

Is any Auto-Conversion/Volume Leveling happening? It can slow things down.

thanks for your quick reply. I am not sure - how would I find out?
MM seems to be taking up A Lot of memory anyway, and working very slowly...

Some autoconversion options were selected, so I've unchecked them. Volume levelling wasn't.

Re: USB synch - very very slow
The conversion turn-off seems to have sped things up a bit!
Re: USB synch - very very slow
That said - I'm still on track 961 of 5649 tracks... and that's been 12 hours. So it hasn't sped it up that much. I'm going to have to cancel it.
Re: USB synch - very very slow
So what happens if you simply try copying files using windows file explorer, assuming you have windows pc...
If you don't need conversion and don't need to change any paths or filenames, you could try copying your entire music folder.
I have 14k tracks and this takes up 72 gb of space so you will probably run out of room at some point.

Using V2024 LATEST alpha or beta build on Windows 11, HP laptop, managing 13k tracks
Re: USB synch - very very slow
I haven't tried that yet but when I tried deleting the files from the USB in an attempt to clear everything up (as MM creates duplicates) it took a good few hours.
This morning I still have about 800 tracks to go!
