I enjoyed working with the beta version of 5, but have been stable and not following along for a year or so (also moving home).
I need to update my library and figured I would update. Which i did, and it's running, but not at all sure I did it properly.
I was running the portable version 5.1.0.2817, with gold licensed. It was portable to permit easier testing of versions.
I installed the portable version 2024.0.0.3082 to a new folder, I moved the MM5.db to the new folder. I tried backing up and restoring but apparently 2024 expects a zip. Moving the file seemed to work and so far have not found any issues (in all of 10 minutes of testing), but before I start updating....
Was there more needed than just moving the database in as the same name?
I'm delighted to buy a new license, but don't see how. Should I buy a lifetime license now, would it work in 2024? my Gold dates to Nov 2022. Yes, I probably should have worried before starting down this path, but I do not frequently use the licensed features.
Sorry if all this was discussed, I hunted around for a while, found the April posting on licensing, but could not find migration details especially this late in the game.
