Trouble with fritz!box

Post by wolfram.brod »

Hello!
I installed MM2024 on my laptop and have my archive on a sd-drive attached to fritz!box. And I have great trouble with that configuration. Most MM tells "could not change tags", or he does not copy tracks he should do, or he looses track he should move. my prominentest cases:
1.) i had to import my archive: mm did - but at least on approx. 25% he antered as interpret "les humphry singers". partially i could repair this: delet the volume from the archive (not from the disk!) and re-import the volume. mostly this fixed-but not all! As more as i re-imported as more wrong interprets I get !!!
2.) I wanted to move some volumes from one subfolder to another. it were 10 volumes. MM did - except of 2 and 1/2 Volumes. Now mm does not include the tracks from this subfolder into the archive - but they are nowhere else!!
I assume, that mm has problems with the fact, that information from the sd-drive may arrive a little bit slower than on other configurations. and some other bugs on scanning subfolder.
HOWEVER: MM WAS EXCELLENT UP TO VERSION 4. bUT NOW I'M TIRED OF ALL THIS REPAIR-ACTIONS I HAVETO DO: MM ISN'T GOD NOW!!

Which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey 2024 are you using?

Are you having intermittent issues, or do certain files always fail? Are you using a Router with a hard drive attached or a NAS?

Hi,
You maybe right, but using SD-Card for apps like MM is a bit risky due the high rate of SDCard breaks.
We would need full MM debug as explained here viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86643 to be more specific in analyze.

My best guess is that you use Fritz as SAN to share connected SDcard on Fritz to serve files over LAN/WLAN.

I would use external Self powered enclosure where I can put and HDD/SSD and Attach to my Router (ASUS in my case).

I had similar one to https://www.amazon.de/-/en/ORICO-Enclos ... ref=sr_1_3 and paired with WD Red plus 8TB which I created for a friend to make Network storage

It needs to be self powered to support larger 3.5" HDDs to protect Fritz box power (which I doubt can fully power it).

Give us bit mor edetails and we will try to help as much as possible.
