duplicating every file in library

I was experiencing the same issue and it emerged very recently after using MM for a number of years. I did go to Location and discovered that my external drive was indicated twice, albeit with a slightly different path. Needless to say, I have removed the one with the smaller file tally and am happy to say the program is currently removing 29000 files from the Library.
