Regarding Artist field...
eepman wrote:Temporary Fix: Uncheck Use ANV (Artist Name Variations) on right side.

Definitely a change in Discogs API.
There are have also been erroneous search errors.
I worked on this script a long time ago, I might take a look at it again.

I've figured the problem. It's an xml change. I'll make a new release soon :)

Sorry for the late response, it's because my subscription to this thread doesn't work...

Hi,

thank you for the great script. This auto tagger is the best.

But either I am too stupid to figure this out or it is a missing feature.

Dicogs has fields for feat. artists. I can't figure out how to get these artist into the track title.

Let's say I wanna tag Jay-Z - Empire State of Mind (feat. Alicia Keys).

If I use this tagger I get:
- Artist: Jay-Z
- Title: Empire State of Mind

But I would like to get (and I think this is the proper way):
- Artist: Jay-Z
- Title: Empire State of Mind (feat. Alicia Keys)

Am I doing something wrong? Shouldn't I even want something like that? Is my thinking wrong?

Please enlighten me! :)

Hi xelra!

I'm glad you are making good use of this script.

There are two ways to represent featuring type of credits in Discogs (both are supported within this script).

1) Mutiple artist name with join word (eg: Artist1: "Jay-Z" Artist1Join: "Feat." Artist2: "Alicia Keys" Resulting Artist: "Jay-Z Feat. Alicia Keys" Resulting Album Artist: "Jay-Z")

2) Credit is included in involved people. You'll have to enable "Save Involved People" checkbox on the right. Then it will be saved into "Involved People" field.

This script intends to comply with Discogs decisions for any field and map them into best possible field(s) within MediaMonkey. Since featuring artist name with paranthesis is not a part of the song title, it's not written into the title. if the track contains a joined artist name it will be written into artist field, or if it's credited in involved people it will be written into "Involved People" field.

I hope this helps.

hey guys,

i'm getting the dreaded "Cannot query the web site - The server could not recognize the provided mime type. " error when I try to search. i am running xp and using firefox. i have logged in to discogs on IE. i also have msxml6 installed.

any ideas what i can do to get around this? i read this entire thread and am confused about if this is a known error with a fix in place or if this is still ongoing.

i've tried tagging several songs but with no luck. help!! this script looks amazing and i can't wait to use it!

Last complaint for this error was caused by IE9. Do you have IE9 installed? (Actually I have IE9 (64bit) installed at home and not having any problems)

Upgrading IE might help. Why don't you give it a try?

yes, i restarted it as part of the ie8 upgrade. it "force" restarts it to complete the installation. then i logged into discogs via ie8 and then opened MM to try to auto-tag. that's when i get the error.

ok, i think i may have figured it out. i trolled a TON of posts across a ton of forums and i think it came down to Norton blocking the results. i disabled Norton for a few minutes, re-searched in MM and now i see results....AMAZING RESULTS!!!

the only thing i am unsure of now is how to allow this script to run while Norton is running. i'd like to leave Norton up and not disable it everytime i need to tag. any ideas?

Let, I am sure you have a life outside of these forums, but i just wanted to say thanks for all your help on this. much obliged, partner!
