Added Rockbox Support
sorry it took so long to get back to you, i have had a busy weekend and been away from my computer.
ok, i am still getting the Sever execution failed, so i am thinking that is something on my end with my windows installation. hopefully i can get enough stuff backed up off my laptop in the next day or two so that i can reinstall windows and see if that gets fixed.
it does seem to be recognizing MediaMonkey even when its not skinned, so that great. the playlist options you added are awesome, even better than i expected. thank you.
i will report back on whether the reinstallation of XP works or not.

WOW!
Can't wait to try it out. Thanks for all the hard work. I edited my post over in the AIB forums to reflect the changes.
Just out of curiosity, whats your opinion on using Rockbox with the Sansa?
great work! I use you program every couple of days... I have over 450 songs rated (Not counting the ones I set to 1 star and deleted from the player) so I am still loving it.

Thanks morenu
OT:
I think Rockbox is really cool. It has nice features like the database where I can choose tracks by ratings and so on and it's very fast. The Audioscrobbler.log rocks too
But I'm a little disappointed from the Rockbox team. Together with Miika Pekkarinen (responsible for Rockbox database) I found a bug on the file system level for the Sansas which is why data is'n stored correctly on the sansa (Bytes are missing or added within files). But they don't seem to be interested in that. I posted it on the forum but all they did was closing the topic and deleting it. That's not the way I used to know from support-forums, especially if I compare it with the Mediamonkey forum
. So I let it go and will have a look at it in a few month.
BTW That file system bug is the reason why the Rockbox Database might not be read correctly. I've tried to handle all possibilities, but that's not 100% save.
Nevertheless Rockbox has a long way to go.
USB Support is still missing and the handling isn't easy if you don't really know what is done in background.
It took me 4 days to get everything I want.
The choice isn't easy.
Using the original firmware whith nearly no features and sometime strange behavior (Rating takes up to 4 Minutes
) or using Rockbox with a lot of features but knowing that it's very buggy at the moment.

OK here are 2 features I would LOVE to have, but can not find anything on them, you have any ideas?:
1) turn off the Fing record button, even if it is permanent. I accidentally hit it too stinkin much.
2) Flip the screen (and perhaps the buttons to match) upside down, I find that I would prefer to hold the Sansa in my hand upside down and would be able to use it one handed easier.
just curious, and I do not mean to clutter up your thread

i just discovered that Rockbox can keep up with play counts. i have several playlists, mostly for podcasts, that are built around removing a track when the playcount is "1" or more...would it be possible to get SansaMonkey to synch that from the player to MediaMonkey? that way i don't have to worry about manually adjusting stuff on my autoplaylists.

in my particular case, i don't think it would matter either way since i am deleting those files once their PlayCounter is increased. for other people, it may be better to leave the PlayCounter and not reset it on Rockbox, just incase they are using one of the MM scripts that rates songs based on play count.
here is an example of how my auto playlist in MM is set up:
it makes a playlist of the first 5 tracks that have a play count of 0, like this (bold is what gets synched)
1. Podcast One
2. Podcast Two
3. Podcast Three
4. Podcast Four
5. Podcast Five
6. Podcast Six
7. Podcast Seven
8. Podcast Eight
after i listen to a track, the playlist should automatically remove that one and add the next in line
1. Podcast One
2. Podcast Two
3. Podcast Three
4. Podcast Four
5. Podcast Five
6. Podcast Six
7. Podcast Seven
8. Podcast Eight

i just tried to synch the play counts and i couldn't get it to work. i attached the Sansa, started SansaMonkey, then MediaMonkey. under "Export Ratings to MM" tab, i checked the "Rockbox" and "Import Play Counter" and clicked "Read Ratings". when i went back to MediaMonkey and refreshed the playlists, nothing was updated in the "Played #" column. is there anything different i need to do to get that to work?

Sorry, Sorry, Sorry.
I disabled the Updating of the Database for Debugging.
I now enabled it again and compiled a new Version.
Please re-download it and try again.
The Play Counter on your Rockbox was set to 0, so you'll have to play that file on your Rockbox again and read it with SansaMonkey to see if it workes.

holy crap, that is awesome! you just made synching 1,000 times more convenient, and my autoplaylists 1,000,000 times more useful. i could see future applications where having a checkbox or way to toggle the play count "reset after synch" on or off, but right here and now, it does exactly what i was looking for. thank you.
