Hi, I know it's been asked a few times before, but the last time was over a month ago, so any progress on the Album Artist option?
Basing on what i could understand from your script (i'm no coder), you import the entire Artists pane in one go, so i can appreciate if removing the Artists that have a different Album Artist would proof difficult, but isn't it atleast implementable that if Album Artist <> Artist (and not NULL obv.), that they also get added to the Artist pane?
And if that's possible it should be possible to change the last panes output to Artist (or to the albums of all Artists that are asociated with that Album Artist, i don't know what the people here prefer), since that would be the same as you do in normal cases for pane 2 too (or am i assuming to much here?).
Right now it's a bit crippled for people that use their Album Artist, and that's a shame for such a nice addon.

Keep up the good work though, and thanks in advance.

I second that request

Hi all,
I second your request Stylewise.

It would be a real lift to have Albumartist instead of artist in a pane.
If so, you would have Genre - Albumartist - Album

That would be one heck of a add-on to MM

Just my two cents,

Seeing as the topic has been reopened, I'd like to add a couple of suggestions/requests (although I know you scripters are stretched as it is, and I can offer nothing but my gratitude)
1. I'd like to re-iterate the request for the artist column to display album artist.
2. I'd like to have the option to remove the titlebar.
3. I'd like to have the option to remove the artist and album headers, along with the Xtra button.

If any kindly scripters are able to make those modifications, I would be very grateful.

And, needless to say, thanks for all the work that has already gone into what is, for me, an essential script.

Thanks,
Ben

Hmm.... apparently....
I've done some work on LibraryPanes today (last time was months ago), because of your determination to give me some work ;-).
Anyway, the script appears more positive to me than last time I got kind of a "degout" (French/Dutch) from it. So that means that you will probably see more movement here.

Steegy:

I don't know what "degout" is but if that's what's kept you from working on the best MM script I use, I will have to track down the culprits.

Since you're going to work on this script again, I'll repeat a few of my wishes:

(1) That Album Art is shown when you select an entry from one of the panes (i.e. the first track in the track list for any selection)

(2) Ability to play songs (or add to now playing) from the panes

(3) Ability to customize pane selection. Adding more options to the drop down box in the first pane (i.e. Year or Rating) and creating drop down boxes in the other panes (probably less important)

I know that's a long list, however since I'm not writing to Santa this year, I figured it was OK. Enjoy the holidays and thanks so much for your contributions to MM, they've really helped to make the software more functional and enjoyable to use.

Hee Steegy, het zal dan wel nederlands/frans zijn, maar echt de enige associatie die ik met degout krijg is een winterse vleessoep ;)

*translated: degout isn't really french/dutch, atleast not for a dutchie :P

O, and thanks, for relooking into the script, i'm sure you'll code it to our satisfaction, judging on the rest of your work ;)

edit:
Ahhh....: Degout: revolting, disgusting, or in dutch: weerzinwekkend....
Although sometimes a bit disappointing,
Always ment with the best intentions.

Combine Browse Album Art with Library Panes

Post by arcspin »

Here´s a little christmas wish from me,

What about a combine venture between Browse AlbumArt script and Libraby Panes script.
What I mean is that when I select something from Library Panes the Albums arts for that particular selection will come up in the main MM window.

How wounderfull wouldn't that be, right !?

Anyway, Merry Christmas to all you wounderfull scripters out there, and of course to the rest of you too *Smile*

@hebrewman: did you check the first post (what's mentioned in red)?: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 9260#49260
(error on line 184 or 192)

@arcspin: that would be a possibility, but only if it doesn't slow down LibraryPanes.

I have also the "license information" error message in line 192, column. I sent an empty e-mail to fixlp@trixmoto.net but did not get an autoreply mail with a fix.

Any ideas from where the fix can be get?

I just received the e-mail (maybe I did not wait long enough) and now the script works like a charm. Thanks a lot!

search update

Post by dodo »

hey y'all,

first off, great script, made me move from winamp to mm.
maybe i overlooked it, but are there any news on a feature that updates LibraryPanes when typing sth in the searchbox?
also, how about adding columns to the ListView, so that more details can be displayed, like # of albums and stuff (see winamp media library)

keep up the good work!

That's not possible. The script can not know what search text / search type you used, and it can not get the search query used by MediaMonkey.
also, how about adding columns to the ListView, so that more details can be displayed, like # of albums and stuff (see winamp media library)
Adding more info = adding more complexity, certainly because everyone will want something different in these columns.

I'd like to make the script code more general.with.more.customisation.possibilities (so all wishes can be easily fulfilled without having a monster-sized code), but I want to keep it's optimized search queries so it stays as fast as possible. I contacted a fellow scripter that has more experience in this and might be able to help best, but I guess he's enjoying a long holiday. Well, that's good for him.

Cheers
