When I enable Library>Media Sharing I can install MM5 as a service.
The PopUp windows ask me for a password for the active user... and fails starting the service.
Most of the users won't have the rights to run services. I have to go to "Services" in the OS and set the login for MM "as local System".
May I find that in a MM help? Or can you change the service user to "local system" during installation?
EDIT: When I select an individual IP adress in the Sharing>Server window, the CHECK button opens the Webbrowser with the MM standard IP (172....) not with the selected.

Does it open with 172. or 192.? Is the IP opened one of the available options? Which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey are you using?

Re: "Run as a Service" need additional configuration
It is really strange that they use 172.16.0.0/12 subnet mask that is commonly used for internal ISP/Company intranet or even extranet(VPN) or like poorly configured CGNAT used by some ISPs routers that DHCP is not configured correctly. How your Network map looks like do you have your own router behind ISP router?
FYI I am not able to replicate the issue, but got curious about all this. Hav enot seen 172.16.0.0/12 in normal home or small office environments, very very rarely I have seen such usage even it should normally work as range is registered for private networking. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reserved_IP_addresses
