File convert on sync doesn't seem to work

Post by AudioBabble »

Hey all,

I have MediaMonkey 5.0.4.2690

I have "incompatible audio above 320kbps" checked in sync profile, to be converted to mp3 CBR 320

Have applied the settings.

When I sync some flac files... they still come out as flac files on the device!

Any ideas why this is?

ah right, I get it now... https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... ration/5.0

so... I had it set to "incompatible audio" above 320kbps... of course FLAC is in the list of compatible audio... therefore no conversion.

have now set it to "any audio" above 320kbps and it does the job.

I suppose I could remove FLAC from the compatible audio list, which would achieve the same result if I used "incompatible audio" in the rule.

Only other thing I noticed is that there is no bitrate info, no sample rate info and no channel info in the resulting mp3 files (according to windows browser at least). That said, they play just fine on the device so far.

EDIT: the reason that info is missing is because they are on the device... if I copy the file onto my desktop, all info is there.
